Minutes of the Meeting at Dave and Ann Robertson's 22nd Feb 2016

Apologies Martin Driver Sandra Edge Jimmi Patel Garry Baker George Madison Ian McAtamaney Wayne Shehan.

18 people attended a very enjoyable social evening at Dave and Anne Robertson house overlooking the magnificent Edward River.

Dave and Ann (Dave says he did the shopping) served up a wonderful selection of Indian food. Jimmi and Ricky, you missed out.

This was followed by desert and coffee.

 

President David welcomed all to the meeting and thanked Dave and Anne for their hospitality.

Tony Kew:Rotary Charity Golf Day 6th March. Full club effort needed as this is a major fundraiser for the club.

Roster of tasks to be completed by next meeting

 

Glen Warren indicated that he had two potential RYPEN applicants. It was voted unanimously to fund two applicants at $200 each.

President David reported that he and Martin W attended Rotary Leadership Institute Part 1 on Sunday 21st. He suggests that it is most helpful to incoming board members in order to get ideas on how best to conduct their club functions.

At RLI Rotarian Cameron Roberts from Rotary club of Belvoir-Wodonga detailed a program as a volunteering option for students instead of "schoolies" week on the Gold coast.

The students pay $3700 for 15 day trip to Cambodia visiting tourism sites and working 5 days in a community centre. No cost to Rotary.

It was agreed to support this project and forward details to Glen Warren at Deniliquin High School.

President David said that he and Martin W also called into see Rex Watson at Moira station regarding the possibility of having a meeting at that site.

He indicated that the renovations have progressed wonderfully and that within the next 12 months they wold be ready to accept our group.
