We have received further updates on our exchange students.

Our inbound exchange student, Nahyra, will be arriving in Sault Ste Marie on September 11th. I will share her arrival time with our club. It would be great to have a "welcoming party" at the airport for Nahyra! I hope to see many of you there. Nahyra is very excited to get here. She has been trying to book a flight but was waiting for her visa to be finalized. She now has her visa "in hand" and has booked the first available flight into the Sault. She is looking forward to meeting all of us!

Leah sent her update last night. It appears that she's enjoying life in Pachuca! She asked that I share this information with the club and promises to send pictures in the near future!

It's hard to describe what I'm feeling at this moment really...so many amazing emotions! I'm having the time of my life and I think that's an understatement. Mexico is beautiful and amazing; whether it is the good or the bad! I love every detail about this country. I've grown to love it just as I love Canada; truthfully I love it more. Everyday I dread the thought of coming back to Canada because Pachuca Hildago Mexico has become my new life which is more than I could have ever asked for. It seems every second of this exchange continues to get better and better, whether it be as simple as hanging out at a friends house or going out on Friday. Everything turns into something amazing and another memory that I get to add to my Mexico Paradise. LOL. I'm so in love with this country. It's very different than Canada. Truthfully I prefer it. The people are so proud, kind, accepting and nice, not to mention fun! They're also very curious to meet new people. It's pretty amazing.

My host mother was telling me the other day (in Spanish - I finally understand what she's saying) that every state in Mexico has a different cuisine, music and traditional clothing. I found out that Jalisco (a beautiful state in Mexico that I got to visit me first week) is the typical Mexico that we all know. Mariachis, big dresses, charros, classic outfits; that's where our stereotypes come from. However, each state is different. In my state, Hildago, our cuisine consists of amazing food (mole, tostadas, quesadillas, chili), typical Mexican music.

I find it weird how quickly I've came to admire every detail since in Canada I never really cared as much as I do now. This exchange was by far the best idea I've ever had and I owe my mom so much for encouraging me to do this. I have so many amazing friends, crushes (haha), teachers and my first host family.

Mexico is amazing. I suggest to everyone to visit central Mexico. The coast is beautiful but real Mexico exists in the middle (it's very beautiful and colorful).

Well have to head to bed. In the morning I have anatomy class and the teacher wants me to do all the homework but I never do since "yo comprendo nada"!

Adios todos.

Nos vemos.

p.s. - I'm already making plans to move here after I'm done my exchange. I love it so much here :) There are tons of places to stay and I will probably teach basic English for two years (no university needed) then I will go to University or head to University in Mexico somewhere!
