Program:

October 10th – Donna Hilsinger, President of the Algoma Fall Festival joined the morning meeting to talk about the Festival which runs from October 12th to November 3rd. This year the Festival is celebrating its 40th year.

Lunch brought us a time to network and discuss some Rotary topics.

October 17th – Donna Hilsinger was back for Breakfast and with her the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.  The Festival actors were conducting drama based workshops on language and the plot and characters from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

Breakfast and Lunch brought us together at our tables to discuss Public Relation initiatives for the Club.  Each table submitted some ideas which will be reviewed by the Committee.

October 24th – Ann Penny, Executive Director of Pauline’s Place came to Breakfast and Tiffany Vanzant, Supervisor and Joey Frances, Life Skills Coordinator from Pauline’s Place attended at Lunch.

Tribute to Betsy Demeray

On Monday, October 22nd at 5:30PM the Sault Noon Club is having a dedication ceremony for Betsy to recognize her accomplishments in and through Rotary. A tree that was planted in a playground that she was instrumental in helping get started will be dedicated to her. The playground is located on Meridian St a little over a quarter mile south of the LSSU Campus. Betsy will be presented with a plaque with the message on it that will be mounted near the tree.

Here is what the plaque says:

This Tree was Planted on October 22nd, 2012 In Honor of Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Demaray.  Betsy has been a strong advocate for project playground and, through the Sault Rotary Club, was instrumental in its creation. Betsy exemplifies the Rotary motto of “service above self” through her tireless service to those in our local community and around the world through Rotary.
