  President's Report 
 
Well I’m sure we all enjoyed a quieter week and no weekend BBQ’s.
 
At our Meeting on Monday night, following the Board meeting, we heard some updates from Acting Community Director Bill on upcoming events, and others with planning of events.
 
Club Administration Director Dee distributed the Survey to those in attendance and it was pleasing to see so many completed and returned. Dee encourages all members to complete the survey (it was emailed to you all) and return asap. It is feedback from this that will help formulate plans to make changes, if necessary, and grow our Club.
 
A warm welcome back to Secretary Paul following his recent procedure and a huge “Get Well Soon” to Geoff on his progress to recovery which saw him moved to Katoomba for rehab.
 
Friday saw another successful “Rotary helping hand” to Ellison School by our members who provided lunch for students, parents & teachers at the Colour Run event.
 
Looking forward to a better result at this months Bunnings on Saturday with forecast warmer weather. Thanks to those who were able to assist in filling the roster.

Ellison School Rainbow Rush - Colour Day

Another very successful Rotary Club Of Springwood BBQ event.
 
The subject event is the major fundraiser for the school, and you helped make it a success.
The predicted rush for food occurred and we handled it well.
 
312 sausages handed out in about 2 hours.
These events are only a success when people like you volunteer your time. thank you again.

Rotary NSW Police Officer of the Year Awards - Friday 4th Nov 2022 -URGENT PLEASE ASSISTANCE REQUIRED

Dear Rotarians & fellow friends,
(Macquarie Park, North Ryde & District Friends)
 
Hope you are well and having a terrific week.
 
The judging of the Police Awards will probably be completed in the next week or two, and then onto selling tickets for the event (copy of flyer attached for reference and looking to form some tables).
 
We are now seeking support from Rotarians & companies for auction items & raffle prizes for the night.
 
Could include things like:
 
  • Outdoor adventures / trips
  • Overnight stays
  • Restaurant vouchers
  • Hotel stays
  • Signed / framed jerseys
  • Sports memorabilia
  • Theatre show / entertainment tickets
 
As the event is less than 2 months away, we really need to push for these items now?

Fred and Adele - Then and Now

We bid a fond farewell to Adele after her oh so brief visit to Australia and the Blue Mountains including a High Tea at the Hydro Majestic.

Confirming the delivery of Primary School fiction novels donated initially from St Canice’s Katoomba via Springwood RC to me whilst attending the Police Officers Awards night at Katoomba RSL…. the novels are now with Steve Kearnes - Kurrajong Village Baptist Church - they will distributed to community - schools with identified ongoing need arising from our most recent floods.
 
Please pass on our appreciation to all concerned.
