Rotary Club of Springwood Bushfire Fundraiser!

2019-2020 Saw unprecedented bushfires throughout NSW.
The Rotary Club of Spingwood raised funds to assist those in our community that were affected.
Wow!!!  I have to thank so many people for making this fundraiser such a success!
This event was over 2 weekends in January 2020. Many members and friends of Rotary were recovering from the smoky air and respiratory conditions associated with the fires. Some were not able to get back to the Mountains easily from holiday destinations due to the fires and road closures but we managed to cobble together a team of very enthusiastic volunteers who willingly gave much of their time to help raise funds for those affected by the devastating fires across Australia.

Bunning’s Valley Heights offered us extra BBQ’s for  fundraising and kindly donated a lovely ‘Cumquat Tree and Planter Pot’ which was turned into a ‘Money Tree’ with the addition of a $100 Bunning’s Gift Card and scratch and win lottery tickets. Springwood Printing Company supplied and print tickets at no cost to the Club…a very generous donation!  So armed with my tickets and prize I put out the call to members and Friends to assist on the 4 days and the response was great.
A special thank you to Valda for her enormous effort in raffle ticket sales!

The winner was from Warrimoo! Ticket 380!!!

We had some fun days – some warm and humid and some very wet – but very welcome rain!

The money raised will be shared between Blackheath Rotary and RAWCS Bushfire appeal
