Turkey Shoot
The Turkey Shoot is a three-pronged fund raiser.
In the first "prong" members of our club sell sections of a target with a picture of a turkey on it. We call them the "Turkey Boards". On the evening of the fundraiser the turkey boards are put up on a wall, a line is drawn on the floor, and volunteers are solicited from the crowd to throw the darts. The person whose name is written in the space hit by the dart receives a $20 Safeway/Coop gift card. If some boards come back not completely filled we typically put the Food Bank, Salvation Army, or Interval House in the vacant spots.
The second "prong" is the "Turkey Night", better known as the Steak Night at Rodeos. The evening includes a steak supper and is a great social get together for friends and Rotarians from our club and others.
The third "prong" is the Silent Auction. Items for the auction are provided by Rotarians or local businesses. After dinner is over the "Turkey Shoot" takes place.
This fundraiser is a lot of fun, it facilitates fellowship with friends and Rotarians, and it raises much needed funds that are used for local and international children's programs.
