Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a service organized by the Community Volunteer Services department of the Saskatoon Health Region.
Community Volunteer Services at Idylwyld Centre helps Saskatoon residents remain independent in their own homes and prevent further deterioration of health. The specific services offered include meals on wheels, transportation, shopping and errands, and visitation.
Volunteers deliver more than 200 meals to clients located all over the city of Saskatoon. The meals are prepared at five sites - Saskatoon City Hospital, St. Paul's Hospital, Parkridge Centre, Extendicare and Sherbrooke Community Centre. Each day there are a total of 16 routes of hot meals that require delivery. Frozen meals are delivered on Thursday for weekends and holidays.
