Vietnam Veteran and Docent from USS Midway Museum gave Rotary After 5 a presentation on Combat Helicopter rescue mission.
Mr. Cross serves as a Docent, Speaker and research volunteer on the USS MIDWAY Museum and has over 6500 volunteer hours. He served as a Naval Officer from 1965-1968 in intelligence, then aboard a destroyer off North Vietnam in Operation Sea Dragon. He was awarded the Navy Unit and Meritorious Unit ribbons at his first command. His destroyer was awarded the Battle “E” for top ship in our squadron and the Arleigh Burke Fleet Trophy for the Pacific Fleet. His civilian career included positions in banking and finance and he retired from General Electric in 2006, as an award winning business leader. Steve and his wife have two married daughters and four grandchildren.
