As many of you have heard by now, there was a terrible mass shooting at a music festival in Las Vegas last night. 50+ people were killed and over 400 were injured, with those numbers likely to rise as more information comes in. If you'd like to help, there are several ways you can:
  • Don't spread misinformation. It's easy to hit "share" on social media outlets, but try to verify first.
  • Contact your government representatives if you feel strongly about either side of the gun control debate as that will likely come front and center again. Find out how/who to contact here:
  • Donate blood. While we may not be in Vegas, this is a good reminder about the importance of having blood donations on hand in your city should something like this ever happen here. You can make an appointment to give blood locally at: https://www.mysdbb.org/Appointment/Detail.html
  • Donate money. The National Compassion Fund gives 100% of money donated directly to the victims of mass crime (9/11, Sandy Hook, Pulse Nightclub, and now Vegas). You can view their page here: https://nationalcompassionfund.org/
