District Governor, Marta Knight released $15,000 from her annual district budget that was to be used for canceled district events.

These funds were made available as matching funds for clubs to do projects related to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.  Each club was entitled to up to $250 in matching funds for an approved project related to relief efforts for the current COVID-19 crisis.  These projects may address such items as food insecurity, access to personal protection equipment, shelter insecurity, or education/outreach.

We choose the Boys & Girl Club of San Marcos' Free Meals for Kids program.  Their need jumped dramatically from 150 to over 400 meals per day due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Our club gave a $2,500 grant to support this program.  This grant provided over 12,000 meals for kids in North County suffering from food insecurity.
