Lake Belton Gator Getter Trash Pick-up

The 2023  third annual clean up the lake event is a trash pick up with all net proceeds to benefit of the SLICE OF HEAVEN 501c3 supporting student education in a farm and environmental teaching facility in Holland, Texas.  On September 16th volunteers from service organizations, boater groups, kayakers, hikers and all interested in keeping our Lake Belton clean will gather trash.  The Corp of Engineers is donating the Turkey Roost pavillion at Cedar Ridge park for the central collection site.  Other lake parks will be involved.  Volunteers will fill provided sacks with trash and collection dumpsters will be provided.   Last year over 1000 pounds of tires, wire, bed springs, cans, glass, plastic, TV sets, recliners and assorted hard to believe items were pulled from the shores and lake.   Prizes are awarded for various categories at the end of the event barbeques held at the Turkey Roost  at Cedar Ridge Park after the 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m trash pick up hours.

Keep Temple Beautfiul has joined the project with support and underwriting for the trash pick up at the Temple Lake Park site on the September 16 Saturday date.  Altrusa volunteers can participate in clean up at 8:30 a.m. and will meet at Temple Lake Park.
