Canstruction is an event to bring awareness to hunger in Bell County. Teams will create sculptures made of thousands of cans of food. The sculptures are creative and often engineering marvels! The Expo Center will be open to the public to view the entries and to vote on favorites. Tens of thousands of cans will be used in the sculptures and all of this canned food will be donated to Helping Hands Food Pantry. Altrusa is partnering with First United Methodist Church of Belton to enter the event. On Friday, January 27th, cans will be delivered to the Expo Center and the timed construction of the sculptures will take place. On Saturday, the Expo Center will be open to the public and an Awards Ceremony will be held that evening.
First practice is Thursday, Jan. 12, 3-5 p.m. at Barb's Barn, 50 Stirrup Dr. Morgan's Point. Watch for future practice dates. Next practice is Saturday, 9-1 at Barb's barn.
