About the SBECO Foundation
The Solana Beach Eco Rotary Club Foundation transforms donations into service projects that advance our mission to educate ourselves and our communities about environmental challenges and engage in implementing their solutions.
Central to our work as a strategic charity is the ability to draw on grantmaking tools available through our District 5340, as well as partnering with other Rotary Clubs and Rotary International.
We seek to use these grantmaking tools to support projects that address aspects of climate change, sustainability, education, and disaster relief.
Our Foundation participates in two types of grant programs: Rotary District Grant and Global Grant. Through district grants, our foundation typically donates between $1,000 and $3,000 each year per recipient to worthy nonprofit organizations located in the United States. Under certain circumstances, awards are made to sanitation projects and environmental organizations outside the United States. Our foundation is currently involved in one global grant located in Ecuador. For more information, please visit our grant program page.
The amount collected each year and submitted for matching grants is raised through various fundraising events held by the Club.
The Solana Beach Eco Rotary Club Foundation is an Unincorporated California Nonprofit Public Benefit Entity. It operates in accordance with California Corporations Code Section 213 and qualifies as a 501c3 tax-exempt organization.
