Rainwater Harvesting for Resilience and Clean Waterways
While we import the majority of our water from hundreds of miles away at high cost, we also allow most of our annual rainfall to run off our impervious surfaces, polluting storm drains and thus our rivers and the ocean. Learn how to effectively collect rainwater in your yard to offset potable demand while helping to reduce storm drain pollution and flooding during rain events. We will discuss both active (in tanks) and passive (rain gardens) techniques and how to get the best return on investment.

She graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California in 2001. She received her Permaculture Certificate in 2008 from ECOSA Institute in Prescott, Arizona. Brook also completed the Watershed Management Group Water Harvesting Certification Course as well as a Watershed Restoration Course with Craig Sponholtz.
