Can We Avoid Climate Catastrophe?

Formally educated in Music Composition, Merrill became interested in environmentalism as a child back in the 60’s when frequently confined to his room during smoggy days in Los Angeles.  With lifetime interests in science, conservation, sustainability, building and architecture, the long term dream of acquiring and developing a model for sustainability was realized in 2012. The Leeds Ranch, located in coastal north San Diego, CA. includes a 17Kw solar PV system, water well, industrial grade greenhouse, and has been retrofitted with state-of-the-art energy conservation technologies.

 Joe has worked in over 50 countries teaching seminars and consulting with business and government leaders.  He has led workshops at over a dozen universities in the US, UK, Australia, South Africa and the Middle East. He has decades of managerial business experience and has worked as a counselor for people with disabilities as well as with women and men affected by domestic violence. His educational background includes a Master’s of Science, Electronics Commerce; Bachelors in Business Administration from National University; and a Master of Arts, Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, Santa Barbara. Joe has had long-standing interest in the environment and recently completed the Climate Reality training held in Los Angeles, CA.
