The Medic Alert Program has been sponsored and administered to Berkeley Heights Senior Citizens for at least the last fourteen years. The program was initiated to allow those living on their own to be able to get assistance in the event of an emergency when not being able to use a telephone.
All of the equipment is provided, installed and maintained by the Rotary Club of Berkeley Heights. Presently there are over one-hundred units in operation in Berkeley Heights. The cost of the Medic Alert system is $90 for the first year and $70 per year for succeeding years.
