Harvesting with America's Grow-A-Row

We are assisting America's Grow-A-Row harvest good and nutricious lettuce.  Since lettuce needs to be harvested before the day's heat wilts it - it needs to be harvested early in the morning (no one likes wilted lettuce).  Please join us for an educational and rewarding experience.  

THIS EVENT IS A PART OF OUR DISTRICT GRANT WHICH REQUIRES 'HANDS ON' PARTICIPATION IN ADDITION TO THE MONETARY DONATION.  WE ARE UP AGAINST A DEADLINE HERE AND REALIZE THE TIME IS EARLY (BLAME THE LETTUCE!!). PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO PARTICIPATE AND FEEL FREE TO SIGN UP ANYONE ELSE THAT MIGHT LIKE TO PARTICIPATE.  THIS WILL BE A REWARDING EXPERIENCE.

The event will be at their Pittstown Farm, 150 Pittstown Rd, Pittstown, NJ.

A typical volunteer event looks something like this:

Please arrive 5 minutes early to check in.

 First 15 minutes: We begin with a brief discussion about AGAR, their programs, and why volunteers are so important in the fight against food insecurity. Then we’ll give get instructions for the task of the morning.

 Remaining time: Volunteering in the fields to harvest a crop! 

We’ll wrap up by telling you what you accomplished (how many people you fed) during your time with us, which is always exciting!
