Natalie Edwards (above), Director of School Nutrition for GCCISD, and Amy George (below), GCCISD School Nutrition Community Outreach and Marketing coordinator, updated the Kiwanis Club on the growth of the summer meals program implemented through the district. Started originally to serve students assigned to GCCISD summer school during summer school time, now includes eight non-campus programs that operate Monday - Friday from June 6 thru August 5. The outreach program has grown to serve over 1,100 children aged 1-18 in Baytown. Nutritious meals are served in partnership with the USDA at Bergeron Park, Central Heights Park, Jenkins Park, McElroy Part, Pelly Park, Roseland Park, Unidad Park, and the Sterling Municipal Library. Congratulations to this outreach program of the GCCISD School Nutrition Department.
