Lee College Basketball Presents Program Overview

Lee College basketball was the topic of our weekly program on June 9 as head coach Roy Champagne (above) and former player Vince Garrett (below) made presentations to the membership. Coach Champagne gave an overview of the recruiting process and told the story of how Vince made his way from inner-city Chicago to Baytown. Coach Champagne explained that character traits trumps raw talent in the recruits he brings to our local community college, emphasizing Vince was a prime example of that philosophy. Vince went from LC to Rutgers and University of Wisconsin-Green Bay after finishing at Lee. He recently played a season in the German professional league but returned to Baytown to work the LC youth camps this summer. Vince feels Baytown is "home" and credits Coach Champagne on making him a better person as a result of his time at LC. Thanks to Roy and Vince for taking time to visit our club!
