Renea Dillon, director of the Goose Creek CISD Career and Technology Department, presented the Club with an update of "what's happening" in the district's schools for students in the career and technology arena. A veteran educator, Ms. Dillon has been at the helm of the GCCISD CTE program for six years. She gave an overview of our the recent bond election is improving CTE opportunities for local students, including the implementation of STEM labs (Science / Technology / Engineering / Math) in all junior schools and the expansion of the Stuart Career Center into a proposed CTE High School in the future. CTE endorsements can also be earned in all five GCCISD high schools through the academies program started two years ago. Ms. Dillon has brought a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the district's CTE programs and Kiwanis applauds her for efforts and thanks her for her presentation.
