Lee College Building Guided Pathways for Student Success

DeDe Griffith, interim Vice President of Instruction for Lee College, was our guest speaker at our April 6 club meeting. Her message was titled, "Building Guided Pathways: Student success at Lee College." DeDe covered a variety of approaches the local community college to address "the traditional path for the traditional student." Among those approaches are the programs Academic Beginnings for Children, Jobs for the Future, STEM Accelerator, and Guided Pathways. The LC VP touched upon the transition issues facing students as they leave high school and register for college. The college is working closely with other community colleges and local school districts to insure students succeed in the career pathways they choose.
