Galveston Bay Pollution Report
Posted by Al Richard on Feb 03, 2017

Sarah Gossett of the Galveston Bay Foundation updated the club at our February 2 meeting regarding the constant monitoring of Galveston Bay waters for pollutants. Ms. Gossett explained that Galveston Bay is a $4 billion industry for Texas and that one-half of the Texas population lives in the Galveston Bay watershed. The watershed stretches as far north as Dallas and she explained how the general population adds to the pollution of the bay through multiple ways. With the efforts of the GBF, over 99 percent of the waters qualify as healthy as it relates to oxygen and PH levels.
