The Kiwanis Club of Baytown recently completed its "Back to School" theme month by hosting its annual faculty breakfast for the staff of Alamo Elementary, our partner school in the Baytown Chamber of Commerce Partner in Education program for 10-plus years.

In addition to providing breakfast for 50-plus members of the staff, the Club's PIE committee also hosted a school supply drive during the month of August and presented back packs, crayons, markers, pencils, and folders to the campus for use by needy students.

The PIE committee also presented Alamo principal Ron Wyatt with a $2,000 check to be used to enhance the school's mission of success for all students (photo above). Newly-appointed PIE chairperson Rhonda Skaggs organized the breakfast while president-elect Connie Tilton organized the supply drive.

Joining Rhonda in serving breakfast on August 19 were Dave Jirrels, past PIE committee chairperson, Tad Patton, the Club's Youth Services chairperson, Harry Heinlein, and Club assistant secretary John McMillon.
