The guest speaker at Salem Kiwanis on Thursday, March 11, 2021 was Sam Murray. Same is an Eagle Scout and also a member of the Salem High School Key Club which is sponsored by Salem Kiwanis. Sam, is a junior at Salem High School and is looking for donations for his Eagle Scout project to install a wheelchair swing at Waterworth Memorial Park. Sam Murray first approached the Salem Parks Commission last summer about his idea, which still needed the approval of his Eagle Scout committee and the Sandy Beaver district. Since then, he received all approvals necessary to go forward. Murray is a member of Troop 6 at St. Paul Church..The cost of the project is estimated at $8,500 for the cost of the swing, concrete pad and signage. To donate, make checks payable to the Salem Parks Department and in the memo box note that it’s for the Sam Murray Eagle Scout Project.
