While some of the area schools are virtual, other schools are in person with wearing a mask mandated to curb the spread of COVID-19. In August, The Family Radio Network, Inc. coordinated a child-size mask donation drive as the school year started. Area school district social workers who serve homeless and low-income children are still seeking homemade cloth masks for families they serve especially the Appleton Area School District for when they do start to go back to school in person. Masks now on the back-to-school supply list and many of these students do not have access to masks or access is for adult sized masks which do not fit the students.

- Front - 100% unused and prewashed cotton fabric – no metallic fabrics
- Back - 100% unused and prewashed cotton or cotton flannel
- Elastic or Bias tape for fastening
- Package masks separately in plastic sandwich bags, clearly marked with size.*
Fox Cities school districts requesting help (so far) include: Appleton, Menasha, Kaukauna and Neenah. A mask donation box will be located at Network Health (1570 Midway Place, Menasha) inside the front doors labeled “School District Mask Donations”.
