The Fox Cities Butterfly Festival has changed leadership this year. Family Services of the Greater Fox Valley has handed over the leadership and direction of the festival to the Appleton- Fox Cities Kiwanis as of January 1, 2019.
2019 marks the 11th year of this unique and beloved event which is designed to provide a FREE, family-focused entertainment and educational event that culminates with a mass release of butterflies by the registered attendees. It is a truly special experience.
“We are proud and excited that the Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis will take over leadership of the annual Butterfly Festival. The Kiwanis club has been a loyal partner of ours since the Festival began 10 years ago. Both Family Services and the Kiwanis share a vision of a strong community, healthy families, and thriving children”. ~Jeff Vande Leest, President & CEO of Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin.
Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis is adding the 2019 Butterfly Festival to the list of events it sponsors to support the needs of the children and families in our community. Participants can expect to experience hundreds of butterflies being released, free entertainment, activities and snacks, as they have in previous years. Parent Connections of the Fox Cities will continue to be actively involved in the event. The fun and community spirit will continue while still supporting Fox Cities Families.
"The Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis Club has a rich history of providing service to this community and we embrace the opportunity to lead the annual Butterfly Festival for many years to come. We are passionate about making a difference - one child at a time “. ~ Vickie Rhiner, club president.
Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis sponsors many different community events and festivals throughout the year. From the Appleton Old Car Show to the Fox Cities Kidz Expo to building a children’s neighborhood park, this Kiwanis club has always been at the forefront of supporting the children of the Fox Cities. The club has been serving the children of the Fox Cities and beyond for 47 years.
