While millions of sports enthusiasts watched the 55th annual ‘big game’ on television to mark the end of the football season, the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis club held a new fundraiser to add some soup to the tailgating spread.  Like many clubs, our fundraisers in 2020 were either cancelled, delayed or scaled down putting in jeopardy the financial support we provide our Kiwanis programs.  While the Green Bay Packers did not make it to the Super Bowl this year, our club brought the Soup-er Bowl to Wisconsin.
Homemade chicken soup was on the menu for our guests in a pre-order and drive through pick-up format.   The Grand Meridian in Appleton was gracious in donating the use of their commercial kitchen which was incredibly helpful to our cooks.   In total, over 160 quarts of soup were sold and distributed on one of the coldest days of the year.  The proceeds of the fundraiser will go towards supporting the Kiwanis n’ Cops n’ Kids program and the iPads for Autism program.
