More than a dozen members of the Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis attended a weekend training experience designed to boost their understanding of Kiwanis, gain additional ideas as club leaders and have a little fun in the process.

The Wisconsin-Upper Michigan District of Kiwanis typically holds three training sessions and with the February 11 event taking place at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, it was time for local members to come out in force.

At the day-long session, members learned about public relations, networked with other Kiwanis leaders, heard reports on the health of our district and gained valuable skills to help them both professionally and as Kiwanians.

“This is at least my fourth time attending a district sponsored learning experience, and I always come away having learned something new,” said Anthony Snyder, Appleton-Fox Cities President. “This year is especially exciting due to the roll-out of new branding and planning tools for Kiwanians everywhere designed to enhance our programs and strengthen our membership.”

The Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis Board has always had a commitment to continued education this year’s budget reflects more than $1,500 set aside for members to attend one of our regional conferences or attend the annual Kiwanis convention. Any member who wishes to attend can have their $25 registration fee paid for by the club and, for those interested, adds additional meeting make-ups toward perfect attendance awards.  Snyder also attended the summer 2016 Kiwanis Annual Convention in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
