The Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club is partnering with the Sustainable Fox Valley's Neighborhood Partners program this May with a neighborhood pilot which will be a model for community engagement around quality of life, health and sustainability in our Fox Valley neighborhoods.
One of the projects happening this spring (in partnership with Goodwill NCW’s Community Garden Partnership Program) in a neighborhood in Appleton just north of downtown, will be making raised garden beds (a wood frame with compost to fill it) which will be available to people in the neighborhood at a very nominal cost. This program will encourage people to put these in their front yards, if they have sun there, to promote vegetable gardening. Educational and social events are also part of the project.
