There were 26 members in attendance with Les Reinhart visiting from the Aktion Club. Quite a few birthdays and anniversaries where shared by President Goshon. A can deposit of $21.45 was reported By Bob S. Linda reported that the Aktion Club will meet next Monday. They will also be putting together 1,000 smoking kits for the Teen Maze event in March. Hollie recapped the needs for the 2014 Teen Maze in Boone on March 27th. If you would like to volunteer anytime during the week (Mar. 24-28) to help please sign-up on this website.

Larry Teeples had the program today. President Goshon introduced our own Hollie Roberts to talk about Teen Maze and show a video from last year's event. Hollie also invited Laine Custer and Pam Mentzer to share their experiences from helping with the event.

Teen Maze is an experiential YSS learning event, which takes place at the Boone County Fairgrounds. The Maze delivered powerful information to nearly 1,000 seventh-grade students in Story, Boone and Greene counties. Students from 12 area schools were assigned various choices as they navigated through 12 stops in the Maze. Four specific areas are addressed in the Maze including Health and Wellness, Relationships, Mental Health, and Employment. Division 11 Kiwanis Clubs in Boone, Greene and Story counties and Youth & Shelter Services collaborate to develop Teen Maze each year. Iowa State University Extension, area medical centers, clinics and agencies, local mental health providers, law enforcement agencies and area financial institutions contribute additional expertise to the Maze. Thanks to Hollie, Laine, and Pam for presenting a very good program!
