There were 35 members and one guest, Les Reinhardt from the Aktion Club in attendance today. Special occasions were shared by President-Elect Tim Christensen who presided over the meeting. Everett reported a can deposit of $93.40 from the last several weeks. Hollie reported that the Aktion Club had a meeting on Monday and are planning a membership drive at their next Spring Lake picnic. The board members present voted in favor of sponsoring the Ag Breakfast and Auction at the Greene County Fair so that funds could be paid in a timely manner.

Tim Christensen had the program today. He introduced our own Derrik Bauer who spoke briefly about the Jefferson fire department and took some questions. He mentioned that Eldon Cunningham recently retired as Fire Chief after 43 years of service to the department. Randy Love is the new Fire Chief, who was elected by the 25 member volunteer fire department. Derrik stated that they are retiring two older trucks in the near future and after that takes place the oldest truck will be a 1993 pumper truck. He invited members over to the fire station to see the new $189,000 fire truck that was recently purchased and some of the other equipment that they have acquired.
