Weekly Kiwanis News 9/17
There were 34 members in attendance today with Les Reinhart and Lois McAtee as guests. New transfer member Mark VanderLinden was also welcomed to the club today. Many happy dollars were shared. Can deposit was reported by Sherry as $41.70. President Goshon reminded members that the new officer installation will be held next week during the regular meeting. There is a Kiwanis budget committee meeting tonight (Wednesday) and Pat shared that she will attending a Teen Maze meeting on Thursday.
Dean McAtee had the program today. He introduced his daughter, Jean Feldman who spoke about their recent trip to South Africa. Jean shared many photos with us from the trip in form of a video. The stayed at the Heritage Safari Lodge in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The Heritage Safari Lodge was originally built in the 1940's as a hotel and was a landmark pitstop for weary travelers between Maputo and Durban. Acquired in 1996, the gracious building was lovingly restored to its original colonial grandeur, enhanced with new accommodation, and tastefully themed to highlight Zululand's unique cultural heritage.
