There were 32 members in attendance today with Les Reinhart visiting from the Aktion Club. There was also five Kiwanians interclubing from the Nevada Club. Vern F. reported a can deposit of $101.85. Special events and happy dollars were shared. President Christensen announced the tentative Officer installation date is set for Sept. 25th during the regular club meeting. Linda S. announced that the Genesis picnic will be postponed due to the heat.

Dr. David Jaskey had the program today. He introduced Julie Schroeder, DOT Certified RN Occupational Medicine from the Greene County Medical Center to talk about the new Occupational Medicine program which started there on July 1, 2013. Work-related injuries and their related expenses are typically one of the top three most expensive line items on an employer's budget. Occupational medicine clinics are not open to the general public - they only serve employers and their employees. Because nurses and physicians tour work sites, they are able to provide focused injury care that utilizes their knowledge of the working environment. GCMC will be hosting an informational luncheon for employers on Sept. 18th from 11:30am-1pm to talk about the new program. Thanks to Dr. Dave and Julie for the informative programs.
