There were 26 members present today with guests Les Reinhart and Toni Linberg visiting. Toni will be inducted at the July 17th meeting as our newest club member! Many happy dollars were shared today. President Christensen reminded members that the Kiwanis board meeting will be held on July 12th. Hollie and Linda reported on the Aktion Club picnic and the Farmer's Market grilling this week. They grilled smoked pork chops and were sold out by 6:00pm. Hollie thanked Rick M. for his grilling support. The Aktion Club will meet at the Masonic Lodge from now on for their monthly meetings. Their next meeting is Monday, July 15th. Tom H. passed around the sign-up sheet for the county fair food stand which begins next Friday, July 12th.

Tom Duncan had the program today. Tom shared information and took questions on our own Raccoon Valley Kiwanis Aktion Club, which is now 5 years old. The local Aktion Club has 25 members and each member pays $5 a year for dues. The state of Iowa has between 30-40 Aktion Clubs serving around 400 members. He shared that they would like to send several members to the 2013 national Aktion Cluib training and leadership conference in Indianapolis, IN on September 6-8th. Thanks to Tom, Linda, and Hollie for doing a great job with our very successful Aktion Club!
