There were 32 members in attendance with Les Reinhart visiting from the Aktion Club. Toni Linberg was inducted as our newest member. Welcome Toni! Vern F. reported a can deposit of $57.40. Tom H. reported briefly on the Greene County Fair concessions. He will have a financial report at a later date. Randy M. talked about the plan for a food stand at Guthrie Center for Ragbrai next Monday. A group will meet at Shadran at 3pm Sunday to go to Guthrie Center City Park/Fairgrounds for setup. Volunteers are asked to meet on the east side of the HS or at Fareway at 6:00am Monday morning to load up supplies.

Deb Geisler had the program today. She introduced GCHS junior Annie Palmer who spoke about her attendance at the 2013 Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) conference at Central College at Pella in June. Annie shared some of the activities she participated in during the conference with members. HOBY programs provide youth selected by their schools to participate in unique leadership training, service-learning and motivation-building experiences.

Founded in 1958, HOBY’s mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. HOBY programs are conducted annually throughout the United States, serving local and international high school students. Thanks to Deb and Annie for an interesting program!
