Weekly Kiwanis News 7/13/16

There were 26 members in attendance today with Les & Mindy visiting from the Aktion Club. Several special occasions and a happy dollar or two were shared. Vern reported a can deposit of $71.90 and stated that the total deposit for the Kiwanis year is $2,700 which is $200 above the projected amount for the year. Linda reported that the Aktion Club met last Monday and will meet again next Monday. They are busy planning for Hot August Night.

Tom Heater reported that workers are needed for Saturday evening at the fair. Our food booth is opening Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Pat reported that next Tuesday, July 19th is our night for the Farmer's Market. We will be grilling and serving at the event. Those who signed up for bars are asked to get them to Linda's office that afternoon.

Tom Duncan had the program today. Tom provided an update and answered questions about our Raccoon Valley Kiwanis Aktion Club and Genesis. There are currently about 20 members in the Aktion Club. He, Linda, and Hollie are looking for other Kiwanis Club members who are interested in helping with the Aktion Club as they are looking to reduce their day to day involvement after 7-9 years of guidance and mentorship.
