There were 31 members in attendance today. A report was heard on the recent Aktion Club meeting. The Aktion Club received a $500 donation from the Bell Tower Festival Poker Run & Bike Show committee. A photo was taken for publicity with our own Loren Turner and Bob Smith presenting the check. Kiwanians Buenz and Monthei also served on this committee. The Aktion Club is also preparing for Ragbrai in Paton.

A can deposit of $158.65 was reported. Verle reported on a successful Genesis picnic at Spring Lake and thanked those who helped. The Greene County Fair concession stand was discussed with workers still needed for Saturday evening and Sunday at 2:00pm. The Nevada Kiwanis Club's sweet corn and bolony feed will be held on July 22nd if there is interest in an interclub.

Tim Christensen, Jefferson-Scranton Superintendent had the program today. He spoke about the whole grade sharing agreement that in under development with the East Greene school district. Tim spoke about the process, sharing incentives, and timelines involved. The plan currently calls for JS 5 & 6 graders to attend school in Grand Junction and East Greene's 7-12 grade students to attend our MS and HS. Both school boards will vote in August on the plan. The sharing agreement would start in the 2012-13 school year to allow for much planning and organization during this school year. Supt. Christensen took questions from the group.
