There were 32 members in attendance with Les & Mindy visiting from the Aktion Club. Vern reported a can deposit of $79.00. The Aktion Club had a successful picnic at Kelso park last Thursday. Thanks to the Kiwanians that assisted with the picnic! President Monthei reported that we have been asked to help serve at the Ag Breakfast on Monday July 13th. Workers should report to the fairgrounds by 6:30am. The breakfast is from 7-8:30am. There will be a Kiwanis board meeting on Friday, July 10th.

Vern Foje had the program today. He invited Kathy Hoskins from GCMC to speak about Hospice. Considered to be the model for quality, compassionate care for people facing a life-limiting illness or injury, hospice care involves a team-oriented approach to expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support expressly tailored to the patient's needs and wishes. Support is provided to the patient's loved ones as well.  At the center of hospice and palliative care is the belief that each of us has the right to die pain-free and with dignity, and that our families will receive the necessary support to allow us to do so. Vern purchased copies of the book "Gone From My Sight" for any club member that wanted to take one. Thanks Vern and Kathy for an excellent program!
