There were 37 members in attendance today. Les Reinhart visited from the Aktion Club. Many happy dollars and special occassions were shared. Vern reported a can deposit of $56.70 for the last six days. Linda reported on the Aktion Club picnic and the club's preparation for Farmer's Market and Bell Tower. President Goshon reminded members about the Board Meeting on Friday. Several Greene County Motorcycle Charity members offered 2014 event t-shirts and collector challenge coins to Kiwanis members in attendance. Thanks to those who purchased items to support the Aktion Club!
Steve Carlson had the program today. He introduced Don Orris to update the club members on the Thomas Jefferson Gardens project which started in April of 2012. Don talked about the progress of the new visitors center and the 5 gardens that are in the process of being planted. They are planning a "soft" opening during the Bell Tower Festival on Saturday afternoon. He also shared that the committee is still looking for about $120,000.00 in funding to complete the project. A special thank you to Don for his dedication and many hours of planning and labor that he has contributed to this outstanding project! Thanks also to Steve for lining up the program.
