Tim Buenz had the program today. He introduced Greene County Development Executive Director Ken Paxton and Peg Raney who spoke about "Grow Greene County" casino referendum vote which is proposed for August 6th. Peg shared information about her recent trip back to her hometown of Emmetsburg to visit with people about their experiences over the last 6 years on having a Wild Rose operated casino in their community. She shared many answers to questions she posed on topics ranging from jobs, crime, to distribution of charitable funds. Ken shared that Emmetsburg has documented around 50,000 visitors per month to their community which can be attributed to the casino, its restaurant, concerts and events. They are also proposing the casino would generate 250 jobs. More information will be available on their new website in the future. Thanks to Ken and Peg for a very interesting and informative program!
