Bob Allen had the program today. He spoke about the five animal buildings that are in need of updating at the Greene County Fairgrounds. The board recently had an auction to sell donated seed and this event raised $111,000 for the fair foundation. They have also raised $88,500 from business and individual pledges. They wrote a grant application to the Greene County Community Foundation and recently received that grant for $30,000. The building project expenses total around $650,000. The first building (swine barn) is complete. Phase two calls for a new sheep barn and phase three is a cattle barn. The optimistic goal would be one building per year. The fair dates for this summer are July 7-13th. Thanks Bob for the update and your work to provide modern facilities for our youth and community!
