Mike Wahl had the program today. He introduced Mike Healy who is the new manager at the Jefferson Municipal Golf Course. Mike and MALH, LLC. recently entered into a lease agreement with the City of Jefferson to manage the newly acquired course. Healy is a Jefferson native and grew up around the game of golf since he was 10-years old.  Healy’s forward, progressive ideas and plans for the golf course and clubhouse is what ultimately made the decision for the City Council to select him as the best choice for management of the course.

On the course side, Healy says he will keep the men’s and women’s leagues, but he wants to bring back school-related tournaments and the junior programs that he was apart of with the course when he was growing up.

As for the clubhouse, Healy is pushing to make the building accessible all year round.  He also wants to build a deck on the south side of the clubhouse overlooking the course itself.  Healy has installed a golf simulator so people can play golf during the winter months and not lose touch with their game.

Part of his staff includes Brett Madsen who has been the course’s greenskeeper for several years.  Healy will also be bringing the head golf coach at Glidden-Ralston Chris Nelson as an unofficial golf pro. Thanks to both Mike's for a great program!
