There were 30 members in attendance today with Les Reinhart visiting from the Aktion Club. Many special occasions and happy dollars were shared. Vern F. reported that he deposited $134.70 from the can collection depot. President Christensen reported that our Kiwanis website placed second in the Division 11 club website awards and that during Past President Heater's year (11-12) our club received the "Distinguished Club" award. Linda S. and Hollie R. reported on the Aktion Club. They recently put together 1,000 smoker bags for the Teen Maze, they are serving popcorn at Spring Into Greene, and several members are attending officer training in Algona with Tom D. Bill R. awarded this week's Live Healthy Iowa Subway gift certificate to Sherry Palmer for her efforts. Vicki L. asked for several volunteers for the March 30 Easter Egg Hunt at the Rec. Center. The club discussed giving 20 movie theater gift certificates for the Easter Egg Hunt. Pat M. reported that the Teen Maze event is still looking for volunteers.

Loren Turner had the program today. Tim Buenz, Bob Smith, and Loren spoke about the 2012 Bell Tower Festival Poker Run and Cycle Show sponsored by the Greene County Motorcycle Charity. They recapped last year's event and planning that has taken place for the June 8, 2013 event. One thousand dollars has been donated to the Raccoon Valley Aktion Club over the last two years by this group.They thanked the Kiwanis Club for sponsoring the organizations new website for the year. Thanks to Loren and his group for the presentation.
