Larry Teeples had the program today. He introduced Jefferson Mayor Craig Berry to speak about upcoming Bicycle Events that will be hosted in Jefferson. The first event is the Market To Market Relay Iowa on May 11th. It's a team running relay from Jefferson to Des Moines, the Market to Market Relay Iowa covers 75 miles over 17 stages on a scenic and varied course. The course follows the Raccoon River Valley Trail System, paved streets, and gravel back roads through a diverse and scenic slice of west central Iowa. Combine the running with outrageous costumes, memorable van rides, and a lively Post-Race Shindig & Expo in downtown Des Moines and it all adds up to 1 unforgettable day.

The second event is the Iowa Bike Festival which will be held on May 25th. The 2013 Iowa Bicycle Festival will be bigger and better than the first event held in 2012. Whether it's a parade, a juried art show, a steel band, food vendors, bike vendors, a fashion show or working with a graffiti artist to paint a team bus, everything about the Festival is FUN. It will be fun for all ages! Thanks to Larry and Craig for the informative program!
