There were only 20 members in attendance due to the blizzard. A report was heard on the Aktion Club dance that was well attended. The Ames Aktion Club also attended the dance and Pizza Ranch donated pizza (Thanks Rob!). A good time was had by all! President Miller thanked members for the great worker turnout at the Jefferson Telecom open house breakfast. We served around 1,000 people that morning. The Kiwanis Board of Directors will meet on Friday morning.

Ashley Schwander invited our own Tom Heater (Greene County Sherriff) to speak on the new gun law taking effect his year that allows people with permits to carry their weapons concealed or openly in most public places. Many comments and questions were discussed concerning this issue. Tom mentioned that last year he issued 154 gun permits and this year he has already issued around 120 permits with the change in the law. Thanks to Ashley and Tom for a very interesting program!
