There were 29 members in attendance today. President-elect Sherry Palmer called the meeting to order. She shared that longtime Kiwanian Verle Bennett had passed away on Tuesday and that Harry and Vi Hoffman should also be kept in our thoughts and prayers along with the Bennett family. Plans are for Kiwanians to sit together at Verle's funeral on Friday at 10:30am.

Several Happy Dollars were shared. Pat Miller announced that she will be retiring from Home State Bank in the near future. Congratulations Pat!! Teen Maze was discussed and volunteers will be needed on April 9th.

Bill Steussy had the program today. He introduced Denise Promes from GCMC who spoke about Chronic Disease Management and a new 6-week workshop they are offering called Better Choices-Better Health. When ongoing health problems affect your daily life, learning how to better cope can bring relief and reduce stress. Stanford University developed the Better Choices, Better Health® workshop to help people with any ongoing health problems to better manage their well-being through the choices they make each day.

You'll learn:
-Useful ways to deal with pain, fatigue, difficult emotions and stress
-Better nutrition and exercise choices to make
-Problem-solving skills
-Appropriate use of medication
-How to set your own goals and make a step-by-step plan for better health
-How to talk to your doctor and family so that that they can learn to help you better

Thanks to Bill and Denise for the interesting program!
