There were 34 members in attendance with Les Reinhart visiting from the Aktion Club. Marla read the minutes from the February board meeting. McCellan Siruta was inducted as our newest member today! Welcome McCellan! Lisa J. reported a can deposit of $167.00 for the last few weeks. Sherry reminded members that it is not too late to sign-up for the Spouses Night supper and bowling on Feb. 23rd @ 6:00pm. Please get her a check for $16 if you're interested which covers your fees. Your guest will be paid for by the club. Bill R. reported that the Kiwanis Live Healthy team fell to 8th place this week. The top performer from our team was Mike Palmer who received a Subway gift certificate.

Bob Smith had the program today. He introduced Tim Buenz and Tim Christensen to speak about the Chromebook Pilot Project underway in the Jefferson-Scranton School District. Three 25 station carts are in use at GCHS in the areas of Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts. Two classroom carts of ten are in use at the GCMS in Language Arts and two more carts will soon be in place at the JS Elementary School grades 3 & 4. Chrome devices are optimized for the web’s vast educational resources. Integrate rich content into lessons, inspire collaboration, and encourage students to create and share their own content with the world. Chrome devices deliver it all without lengthy startup times or tedious training. They're a simple, scalable and affordable way to put technology into the hands of more students and teachers. Part II of this program "State Of Technology" will take place on March 6th to show additional content and answer questions.
