There were 35 members in attendance today. President-Elect Tim Christensen presided over the meeting. Vern reported a can deposit of $34.25 and read the meeting minutes from the December Kiwanis board meeting. Linda reported that the Genesis Christmas Light Tour will be on Dec. 15th at 5:30pm. She also reported that the Aktion Club will meet on Dec. 19th and have a gift exchange. Angie Oathout was inducted as our newest member. Welcome to Angie!!

Mike Palmer had the program today. He introduced Chip Baltimore from Boone. Chip is a State Representative from House District 48. His district will include Greene County in 2013 due to redistricting. He has lived in Boone for 16 years and works for the Boone Bank & Trust Co. He spoke about economic development, state budget, mental health, education, and tourism. Thanks to Mike and Chip for an interesting program!
