There were 34 members in attendance today. Les Reinhart and Jordan Teeples were visiting the club meeting. The meeting was called to order by President Goshon and many happy dollars were shared. Vern reported a can deposit of $37.60. Linda reported that the Aktion Club will meet Monday (12/2) and will be serving popcorn on the square during the holiday business hours on Sunday. Vern reported that the first weekend of Salvation Army Bell Ringing resulted in donations of $753.97. An ARC Food Pantry donation of $675 from the club was reported. Thanks to all that donated!
 
Karen Pope had the program today. She introduced Mary Tighe from the ISU Extension (Greene County) who spoke to the club about the Kids with A Connection Mentoring Program. The Mentoring Program started in 2000 in the GCMC Public Health Department and his now transitioning to the ISU Extension. Mary stated that they have formed an new advisory committee and are looking to expand the program within the county. Mentors are asked to spend approximately an hour a week with their assigned child and to listen, coach, and educate. Mary provided a brochure and mentoring referral card to club members.
