There were 31 members present today and one guest, Rev. Dan Emmert. Rev. Emmert is the new Greene County representative for the Salvation Army. He spoke briefly about Counter Kettles/Bell Ringing in the county that begins this weekend and thanked us for our support. His goal is to raise $6,000 with 90% of the funds coming back to needs in the county. Verle reported a can deposit of $43.90 this week. Hollie reported on the Aktion Club soup supper which was a great success. They are gearing up for Bell Ringing and the Hat/Mitten tree event at the courthouse. Linda reported that they raised a total of $1.072.00 for the Eliminate Project.

Bill Monroe had the program today. He introduced Cherie Cerveny and Sarah Erickson from the Greene County Early Learning Center. The Greene County Early Learning Center is dedicated to offering high quality, affordable, dependable early child care coupled with an invaluable educational experience that will prepare our youth for a lifetime of learning. They have seen a growth of 430% since they opened five years ago. They now employ 18 caregivers and are open from 6am to 6pm during the week days. The Kiwanis Club has donated funds over the years to help purchase items for the learning center. Thanks Bill, Cherie,and Sarah for the update on this important program!
